Hey folks, this is me posting from new comp! With new modem device! Everything's fast and new and shiny!

Ahem.

That's what happens when I finally, finally get a new machine to play with :) The thing's been sitting in my bedroom for 2 months, getting petted once a while... and we all waited for the new provider contract to come alive. Now I'm a happy girl :) Uhm... when I have dld'ed everything I need, solved all the software problems that come with a new system, and generally tweeked everything to my liking, that is. Right now, I just enjoy the speed :)

Apart from that, nothing's new. I still enjoy work, still like my workmates, and feel quite content right now. Now I just have to learn how to do the customer service on the phone. Still quite a few things to learn, but I will manage that soon, I hope.

Expect to see me around more, now that I have a fast way to the intarwebs ;)

As you can tell from the header, I'm still alive after my first day at the new job. Loads of input, so many people to meet and names/things to memorize - etc. blah blah.

But... nice :) People you can get along with, decent way of introducing new people to the workload... now I just have to get used to workdays (and sleeping patterns) again, lol. Between that, dragonboat trainings, and the usual commitments... it's a piece of work in itself ;)

Finally, peeps: after one year of searching high and low I have a new fulltime job! *sigh of relief*

I'll be starting on the 1st of September as a customer service person for a wholesaler that provides glasses and frames for opticians. Lots to learn, I'm sure - but that isn't a bad thing, and what I saw of the office/staff seemed nice enough. Will tell more when I know more ;)

In the meantime, I will do what a wise woman* told me today: relax and enjoy my 4 weeks of 'vacation' :)

This isn't really cheating, you know.. because:

1. Today: went to an antique market and found a lovely little frame. Had an old pic of Mom & Dad lying around for some time, due to very odd square shape.. bought the frame just on eye-sight.. and it fit perfectly! :)

2. a) Still today: I now have an icon with a book in it :) Long overdue, but I never found anything I liked to work with. b) Yesterday though (ha!), the idea struck me and I took the photo myself. I hope this was a one-time glitch, really.. those bunnies are bad enough with pictures that already exist!

1. More cleaning/re-decorating. Feels nice to have enough energy to even chase the dust bunnies from under the bed ;)

Impromptu coffee with my neighbour :)

Rose lives next door (as in: 5 steps away), and whenever one of us feels like talking, we drop everything, knock and say "Get the coffee started". Got a little problem? Knock. Got something bigger? Knock urgently. You're still in your pyjamas? So what. I like having her around.

Re-organized my bookshelves to fit in what was left at home. Ended up moving large parts of my collection around, sorting, trying to decide what goes where... Shelves are looking good now :)

Finally mustered up the energy to do some cleaning and got rid of the Easter stuff. Now back to sand, stones and my beloved water plants. And I think my fish are happy, too... they get some light again in their tank, now that I cleared up all the green stuff ;)

1. Had a nice long chat with my aunt. We don't do that often enough because normally Mom is keeping me occupied when I'm over there ;)

2. Re-watched "Mary Poppins". Julie Andrews always makes me happy.

I was sitting at the repair shop early this morning, waiting to get the tyres changed.. browsing a dog magazine for entertainment.. when I came across "Draco Malfoy, the English Bulldog".

I'm sure my face froze in between Eyebrow Of Doom and LOL.

I mean.. honestly..!

May have been a case of 'U R doing it Rong' or the site having a hiccup, who knows. Anyways: I'm now to be found on Twitter under my usual username. Don't expect spam, though - not much going on in my life. Mostly for stalking other people, atm ;)
